13th April - Spurs in History

No great excitement on this day for Spurs - no semi-finals or European adventures to report.

13th April, 2002

Spurs 1 West Ham 1

The last game played on this day - Teddy Sheringham put Spurs ahead and seemed to have done enough to win the game but a late strike gave West Ham a point.

13th April, 1970

Spurs 2 Manchester United 1

That's the score we want on Monday. It's time Spurs brought an unbeaten run to an end and put one over the top sides.

Alan Gilzean and Martin Chivers scored the goals in 1970.

Who will get them on Easter Monday?

13th April, 1998

Spurs 1 Coventry City 1

With five games remaining, Spurs still weren't sure of avoiding relegation. Christian Gross' team neated every point and Nicola Berti's goal gave them another vital point as they struggled to remain in the Premiership.

13th April, 1985

Leicester City 1 Spurs 2

Goals from Mark Falco and Glenn Hoddle gave Spurs the points.

13th April, 1974

Spurs 3 Southampton 1

Spurs hadn't won a home League since early February but they had progressed to the semi-final of UEFA Cup. The previous game had seen them win the first leg in Leipzig and they brought their European form into this game and won with goals from John Pratt (Pic: John Pratt, the goalscorer and often unsung hero) and Martin Chivers (2).

13th April, 1914

No so pleasing was the result of this 1st Division game at Middlesbrough. Spurs conceded six without reply and was the heaviest defeat in a season that had started so promisingly with three successive wins. Spurs were very close to relegation but avoided it by a narrow margin - finishing 17th, four points away from the relegation spot.
