8th April - Spurs in History

8th April, 2006
Spurs 2 Manchester City 1

Really up to date.

Good win today - good response after last week's disappointment.

At 2-0, I thought they were going to push on and make a really impressive result but that quick reply, sloppy defending from a throw in, reined them in. Very satisfying day.

8th April, 1901
Spurs 4 WBA 0 FA Cup (SF) at Villa Park

West Brom were clear favourites to end the amazing Cup run of Southern League team, Spurs. However, centre forward, Sandy Brown had other ideas. He scored all four goals to keep up his record of scoring in every round and bring his total of Cup goals to twelve.

Spurs would play Sheffield United in the Final at Crystal Palace.

8th April, 1967
Birmingham City 0 Spurs 0 FA Cup 6th Round

It's games like this that a team has to get through if they are hoping to lift the FA Cup. A difficult game with City claiming that Jennings had dropped the ball over the line for a goal, late in the game. The referee disagreed and Spurs lived to fight another day at White Hart Lane in the replay.
